IT'S YOUR OWN FAULT!
***AUGUST UPDATE***

It's Your Own Fault!

By: John Ross

Welcome to the game show that is so easy, if you don't win,'It's Your Own Fault!'.

This is a game show that features current events, trends in society, sports, music, movies, food, fashion, geography, science, basic math, spelling, quotes, and many other facets of basic knowledge. The purpose of the game is to give the contestants so much information ahead of the question and answer period that they will have a difficult time retaining all that information.

A opening session will begin at the start of the show that will be tailored to contestants interests gleaned from their initial application. The subjects will be blended to match the contestants on a fairly level playing field. A short pause will ensue to introduce the contestants and cause a distraction from the continuity of the game. The game will proceed to a question and answer session after introducing the contestants. There will be two question and answer sessions for the game. Points will be awarded for correct answers and deducted for incorrect answers. The contestant with the most points will proceed to a bonus round where they will spin a prize wheel that has preloaded questions pertaining to subjects already presented in the main body of the show. The contestant in the bonus round will have the opportunity to win a grand prize of substantial value provided by a sponsor of the show. This could be travel, tickets to a major sporting event, or a monetary amount.

Rules and regulations will be determined by further development of this concept.

Other factors, such as live interviews with celebrities involved in topics presented, can be utilized to distract contestants. This could be actors, musicians, sports stars, and other notable figures well known to the public either by live guest appearance or through digital communication.

This concept was created by me, John Edwin Ross. I had previously registered the treatment with the Writers Guild of America West. It has since expired. I am currently the sole creator of this project.

ABOUT ME:

My name is John Edwin Ross. Everyone calls me Jack.

I always wanted to be involved in music. I played in three bands in the 80's. My first band was called St. Vitus dance. It was a three piece band. I played bass guitar. Will Rogers was the lead guitarist and vocalist. Nancy Rogers (no relation) was the drummer. We played original music in Atlanta, GA. We mostly played punk/new wave venues. This included such famous clubs as the 688, the Metroplex, and an oddball location called Margaritaville. I switched bands after a while after feeling like I wasn't getting done what I wanted to achieve as a musician. My second band started out being called Skull City Rockers. We were a four piece band. Once again, I played bass guitar. Stevie Tombstone was the vocalist. Pat Parker played drums, and Rik Phillips played lead guitar. We also played mostly original songs and played the same circuit in Atlanta. We added another guitarist, Ricky Souza, changed the name to The Wake, and came up with all new songs. That lasted a short while but then broke up because of artistic differences. After that I was in a band called Tombstones. It featured Stevie Tombstone on guitar and vocals, Curt Rowlett on slide guitar and harmonica, Pat Parker on drums, and myself on bass guitar. I quit playing before the 80's were over because of several personal reasons.

After that, I tried working with automobiles. That interest waned fairly rapidly!

I then started working in a camera store. I worked at Showcase Photo and Video for nineteen years. We had many large accounts and professional talent who shopped there. President Jimmy Carter even came in and bought a camera! While working there I was invited to a race at Road Atlanta by my co-worker Jack Phillips. He had been in the SCCA for many years. When I arrived I was told Jack was on pit road getting ready to leave. I went to his vehicle and he told me to get in. We proceeded down pit road.I asked where he was going and he told me we were going out to retrieve a disabled car. I asked was I supposed to be doing that and he asked me if I signed the waiver. I said I did. He replied that I was supposed to be doing that. We flat towed one of Damon Hill's William's F1 cars. I joined the SCCA after that and worked Emergency Service for several years. A change in Georgia law excluded me from being able to continue in that role.

I had written a screenplay based on an idea I had from my musical days. I wrote it using a paperback transcription of the movie 'Easy Rider'. I wrote it four times and threw it away four times thinking nothing would ever come of it. A friend who was involved in the industry wanted it to share with a filmmaker he knew. I unfortunately no longer had it to share. I started rewriting it and many new ideas developed in the process. This game show is just one of those ideas. I did get a copyright for another screenplay I wrote and would love to have it produced as a movie. Right now I am concentrating on this project for the long term significance and the entertainment value I believe it offers. I hope that soon 'It's Your Own Fault!' will go into production and entertain millions of viewers for years to come.

Thank you for your interest and stayed tuned for more!
